Problem Note 37844: DBMS data tables are not accessible
Using SAS libraries that reference a DBMS with a SAS/Access engine is not supported in SAS
® Forecast Studio. SAS Forecast Studio needs to know the creation and modification dates for a selected DBMS data table, but the SAS/ACCESS
® software engines do not retrieve these dates.
SAS Forecast Studio reads the SASHELP.VTABLE data set in order to obtain the date information and to determine whether the data has been updated. If the data has been updated, the forecast can also be updated. However, since SAS Forecast Studio cannot determine that the data has been updated, it does not make the data table available for the current project.
This situation will occur when you create a new project based on a DBMS data table. You can see the SAS data library to the DBMS and the SAS data sets representing the DBMS data tables. However, when the data set is selected, the "Next" button is grayed-out and you cannot proceed.
To work around the problem, create a SAS data view to the selected DBMS data table. The data view will populate the necessary fields in SASHELP.VTABLE, and the underlying data will then be accessible to the SAS Forecast Studio project. This SAS data view requires minimal disk space and will always represent the current version of the underlying DBMS data table.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
The use of SAS libraries that reference a DBMS with a SAS/Access engine is not supported in SAS Forecast Studio 3.1. SAS Forecast Studio needs to know the creation and modification dates for a selected DBMS data table but the SAS/Access Engines do not retrieve and save this information.
